I'm not going to give you the link, because that is even crossing my boundaries, few that I have, but the jail website of our county has mug shots of all of the people who are incarcerated.
My son is smiling for his picture. Having FASD probably explains that, but I wonder what he was thinking. Nobody else really smiles for a mug shot when you are booked and sentenced. The rest of the guys/gals on the page certainly aren't.
But there he is, smiling. I have asked myself why. Did he want to look good? Was he happy to be back in jail? Was he intoxicated or high? Or does he just not know that you don't smile for your jail intake picture?
But by the time Mike was about 10 I started reminding Bart, "Don't ever use the word why and the word Mike in the same sentence. There are no answers."

We have said the same thing about our kids many times. If we ask ourselves (or them) why or try to figure it out we will drive ourselves nuts (or more nuts than we already are).
