Expecting to do the Impossible

I like having a lot on my plate. Juggling many plates is even fun for me, but I do not like being expected to do what even I think is impossible.

Like finding a job for a 19 year old who just got out of jail and shouldn't be working with minor females at least for now -- not because of any danger to them, but because of probation requirements. I don't even know where to start. And I think he is counting on me because he believes I'm smart and capable.

That, combined with the expectations of several of my children which are actually achievable, is how I am beginning my day.

I'm just not sure finding him a job is within the realm of possibility.

If he works in a restaurant that serves alcohol, he will not work with minors.(at least not in our state) If he is in the kitchen he will be mostly with males. Be aware that drug use is high with that sort of work, though. It is also hard work.
Many places will not hire if his offense is a felony.
Check with places like the salvation army to see if they have any ideas for employment possibilities. They may be able to hook you up with an agency that helps place people on probation.
Good luck. Finding work is hard to begin with right now.

Thanks Lindy, good advice.

But you're right. Finding a job for anyone right now is tricky, that's why this makes it harder.

The other thing I thought of was landscaping work...again, hard work but would be supervised and most likely not with minors.

Landscaping is a good idea too. I just wish I knew someone that had a business because trying to be the best applicant of several with his history doesn't go well.

Right now he's outside landscaping for me. At least he's not lazy!
