Thanks for your condolences about Carl...

Carl was a beta, but thanks for all of the comments and emails of support.

Funny thing is, I really couldn't have cared less about the fish. I know, I know, I'm awful, but I knew the minute they walked in the house with him that his life expectancy had just rapidly decreased.

In a world like mine, hectic and full of meaning, a dead beta is really not registering on my rader.

I have bigger fish to fry.

Or is that not a good analogy here?

I believe the rule of thumb for surviving foster kids is ... if you're not having fun..you're doing it wrong :D

We received a goldfish as a housewarming present once. It died the next day. We got another one. It died the next day. We got another one (we're stubborn) and, of course, it died the next day. Since then, the only fish we have in our house is cooked.
