Why I Married Him and Why I Sometimes Forget Why

Today Bart and I had some uninterrupted time together for lunch. We drove a ways a way to eat at "Everyone's Pizza" a gourmet pizza place that has won many awards. The good was awesome -- he had a Thai Chicken Pizza Salad and I had a Paradiso (chicken, sesame seeds, pesto, 4 cheeses). I'm saving the other half of mine for supper (can't fit a lot in my stomach lately-- dang surgery).

Anyway, I misprounced a word today and stated that I was "Angoraphobic" to which he quickly quipped, "You're afraid of large sweaters?"

It's that sophisticated sense of humor, that quick intelligent wit, that makes me fall in love with him all over again. Unfortunately, when we are dealing with weighty matters like "will they terminate our parental rights for our 17 year old" or "will the psych hospital recommend to send a not-safe agressive 220 pound out of control 15 year old back into our home" it's hard to find time to make jokes.

But today, when we're miles away from the stress and responsibility (with big thanks to a group of wonderful people who will keep our children) we can take a few minutes to enjoy one another and I am reminded of why I married him.
