Reunifying 3 years after termination

I would repeat myself, since some of you seem to be too lazy to click over to my other site, but this morning I posted my thoughts about a bill going before the senate saying kids should have the right to request to be reunitied with their birth parents three years after TPR.

You can read what I think here, if it's not too much trouble to click.

Don't you love it when I'm a smart alec?

Ouch! I have mixed feelings about it. After sitting through more staffings were I care to remember with older kids who haven't been adopted and have bounced from place to place, I have more than once asked the caseworker if they had anybody left in their bio family we could contact again. If we "the state" have nothing to offer them, I think we have to try and figure out something. However, rarely would I think the bio parents are still an option, but, sometimes there's that aunt or grandma who just wasn't in a position to help at the time of removal, but might be now. I don't know- I do think it's time to think outside the box on these kids.
