Mike is My Hero

Everything is starting to break around here. Well, not EVERYTHING, but lots of stuff. My digital camera, swiped without permission, and returned broken. The washing machine. The dryer is making a weird noise. The Airport Extreme plug in thing that we use to extend the internet around the house, allowing me to work from the table. The phone (though I think I finally fixed that). The internet altogether for a while. One thing after another.

But last night, after the huge storm and tornado sirens which make both his kids and my kids nuts, Mike (of Mike and Kari) came over late and fixed the washer. He has to do this periodically. For some reason, I feel less offended when he looks at me holding fistfulls of things that did not get taken out of pockets that he has had to clean out of the washer than I do when Mr. Sears Repairman comes (after a three week wait).

So he is my hero.

And of course, there is also the ButtCrackFactor which is a private joke between Kari and I... Well, at least it used to be.

Thanks, Mike. I know, if I really wanted this to be a true tribute of gratitude to you, but I couldn’t resist the BCF reference. You know how I am.
