This is Why I Dreaded it

Conversation a few hours after our arrival home with me an unnamed adult member of our family after I overheard that he had his younger brother's Ipod:

Did you take his Ipod without asking?

It's none of your business.

It is my business if one of my children is taking advantage of the other one, especially if one is younger.

Oh, shut up and go back to Hutchinson. It was better with you there.

  2. Was it J? If so, I'd have the parold officer explain theft to him. Our life became much better once we told our son's parole officer everything he said or did that was nasty. I don't miss those days one bit though. He's been out of our house for almost 2 years and what a glorious 2 years it has been. Just remember that it's him, not you. You are much more patient than I was with your "adult" children. Too bad they don't appreciate all that you have done for them and continue to do for them daily. It's been 2 years and our son is still often a snot. I'm still waiting for his frontal lobe to develop.

Wow. You are more patient that me. That "adult" would have been on the stoop after that attitude with me.

I am dreading the grown up years...
