Here's something worth your time.

A note from some adoptive parents:

Might we prevail upon you to click your computer keys to REALLY make a huge difference to a fantastic organization?

The North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) is a wonderful organization that really helps families adopt children like Ashley.

Ashley applied to win a BRICK Award to help them. (She does not get anything personally.) As a finalist over about 600 youth, she went to New York and was selected as a Winner of $10,000. Now she can garner an additional $15,000 only by ONLINE votes!

There are twelve Winners, but she is only competing against two others in her category (Education & the Environment). ALL of them are worthy and amazing, but she is one of the only ones whose money goes to an independent organization—not one they established.

NACAC does an amazing amount with a total budget of around $2 million a year so Ashley’s contribution will be significant. You can find out more about their work at www.nacac.org, including their annual report.

Voting begins March 1 and continues until April 9. Ashley will attend a red-carpet extravaganza on April 10 in New York where the awards will be announced.

It will be televised on the CW Network on April 12 at 9 PM so you can join in the excitement.

In order to VOTE, go to to this site to vote. You can view videos of each of the candidates and learn more by clicking on their names on the ballot.

The site is very busy, so if it doesn’t work the first time, please try again. Vote for Ashley and vote often!

You may have seen Ashley in 2004 when she was NACAC’s Youth Advocate of the Year. She will be presenting a workshop, The Puzzles of Our Past, at this year’s conference in Tampa.
