Feeling a bit dry and lifeless?

No matter how discouraged we feel, no matter how dry and lifeless our spirit becomes, we can't match a skeleton.   Dry bones is what Ezekiel encountered in chapter 37 as he walked through the valley.  Scripture even says that he noticed that they were VERY dry.   God asks Ezekiel, "Can these bones live?"   And Ezekiel responds, "Only you know, God."

You know the rest of the story.  God tells Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones and all the sudden they move and before Ezekiels eyes they turn into people.   And then God asks Ezekiel to prophesy to the wind, asking that the wind come and breathe life into them.   Sure enough, the valley of bones becomes a vast army.

Whether this is a literal occurrence, a vision, or simply a metaphor, it is very powerful.  The breath of the Holy Spirit can transform even the driest of souls.

So if today you are feeling lifeless, dry, used up, exhausted, worn out..... compare yourself to dry bones and realize that the Holy Spirit can breath God's life into you.

Take some time to listen to this song and feel the breath of God as it brings your soul back to life.

Or, if you prefer a secular song with the a more cryptic and yet similar message:
