I hope it's familiar. I hope I'm not the only one whose ever gone through it. You will probably laugh because it is probably universal.
Teen: I'm going to ___________ and staying out until _______.
Parent: Oh know you aren't. You need to ask, not tell and give me more details.
Teen: OK, I'm going to _______ and staying out until ______ (30 minutes earlier).
Parent: You can go to _______ but not to ______ and you'll be back by _______ (1 hour earlier than the previous.
And it goes on and on until a decision is reached that both are reasonably happy with -- or at least the parent is.
I'm tired of going around and around with them.
I really need some sleep -- very tired.
