While I am focussing all my energy on remaining patient and calm, a wrong LOOK can send one of my kids spiraling into an emotional frenzy -- especially the two that are transitioning back home. The wrong word, or the wrong gesture, or the wrong food being served, or someone wearing the wrong thing -- all the sudden the calm surrounding us goes up in smoke and it’s MELTDOWN time.
I find myself working pretty hard on the composure thing, the calm is more important than anything approach, but some of it just can’t be prevented. I’m learning this, but not the easy way.
