How We Spent Our July 4th

Our friends arrived right on time. We adults visited while the kids played until around 3:30 and then we went to the pool. The kids only swam for 45 minutes and then declared themselves bored. We stayed until the pool closed at 4:40 and then had Culver’s for supper. Came back to the house to visit some more while the kids continued to entertain one another and headed off to watch fireworks at around 8:30 to get a good spot.

The display was great and we had a good time visiting. There were a few things that annoyed me (like John’s dressing as much like a gang-banger as he could without having the clothes to do it) and Dominyk’s hyperactivity (normal for him, not normal for most of the people near us). He took 25 pictures trying to capture the fire works and the one here is the only one where you can tell what it is.

Overall it was great fun. It’s always good to see old friends. This was the fourth year in a row we have spent the fourth with them -- the first year was right before their sons were placed with them (some of my first matches).

We came home and had to pack Ricardo, Sadie, and Tony to go to camp with Bart this morning. Kyle left yesterday to visit with friends so there are only 5 of us here for the next couple days.
