Cleaning Frenzy and Suspension

Just a mid day update. We’re having company for supper, so I’m cleaning and cooking.

And John got suspended from school today. He probably won’t last much longer in foster care. As his Probation Officer said, “He just doesn’t get it.”

Even though it's sad and terrible news that John won't last much longer in foster care, I wonder if you might also feel a small sense of vindication at this news, too. After all you have gone through, with the social workers telling you it's your fault, I wonder if you can at least walk away with a small sense of satisfaction knowing that it wasn't your fault, and that the damage was done to John long before he came into your home.

It's sad news he's not doing well, but I also wonder if you are experiencing a certain amount of relief at being able to say to the social workers, "I told you so."

you are exactly right, though it makes me feel guilty to say so. Every time they try him in a new setting that is supposed to fix him and he fails, it makes us feel vindicated -- maybe it wasn't our fault.

i'm just repeating what you said because you exactly described it perfectly....

even though I'm ashamed to say it.

How do you know it's Kari's familiy?

And I was cleaning more because it needed to be done and they were a good excuse.
