Remember when we were kids (those of us in our late 30s or 40s?) We would dream of thinks like phones where you could see people while you were talking to them. We were dreaming of a world like the Jetsons where things were automated. We looked into the future and saw things as being oh so much cooler than they were then. We didn't invision the internet or computers or instant messaging or email or anything like that because for the average person they weren't even in the realm of our thinking.
And now we have reached a stage where Fingerprint door locks are within our price range. I was looking at this today and thinking about how far we'd come. Now for $200 (on the cheap end) you can get into your house with just your fingerprints and without keys.
I need to do some investigating to see about how many sets of fingerprints can be registered and work with them, but with families like ours they may be the answer. Many people find themselves having to lock out kids after they turn eighteen because of their behaviors. Someone told me to invest in a locking system where you could change keys frequently once our hardest kids turned 18, but maybe this would work better.
Interesting thought for a Friday morning.

Please keep me updated on what you find out. I am trying to find door locks to keep Megan out of rooms-plus I like the idea for our outside house doors. I can never give her a door code or key. Key would be lost and code would be known by all as far away as NY by lunch time!!
